Do You Need an Editor?

At Brutally Honest Editing, we believe authors deserve direct and objective feedback to help make their books better. Your friends and family may love your manuscript, but unfaltering support won't help you improve. By working closely with your editor throughout the writing and revision process, you can become a better writer, produce a more engaging book, and save money on expensive and impersonal editing packages offered by self-publishing companies. With our manuscript evaluations and line editing, we'll cut to the chase and suggest tangible ways to improve your story or non-fiction essay.

We offer a range of review and editing packages, but our goal is to help you with you project in any way we can. If there's something we can do that isn't listed on our site, just let us know and we'll find a way to make it happen. Our small team of editors has worked in every genre and with authors from around the world, and we know how to make your book the best it can be.

Hi, I'm Eric Anderson. I started Brutally Honest Editing to make a better service for self-publishing authors that works in their interest. I've been a book editor for over six years and worked with publishing companies, universities, and independent clients around the world. I have also worked in the office of a major self-publishing company, as the managing editor of an online news agency, as an English teacher, and as a writing tutor for undergraduate students. I live in Guelph, Canada, with my partner and our four fuzzy pets.

I love helping writers meet their goals and developing long-term, supportive relationships. If there's anything we can do to help with your writing project, please let us know. We're here to help, from planning to publishing and all the steps between.
